Kids Sewing Project for Intermediate-Draw String Bag
Designed for kids who already have some basic sewing experience, this intermediate-level project is a fun way to build on existing skills. In this workshop, children will create their own stylish and functional drawstring bag, perfect for carrying books, sports gear, or personal treasures.
They’ll learn how to measure and cut fabric accurately, sew straight and curved seams, and create a professional-looking drawstring closure. With a variety of colourful fabrics to choose from, each bag will reflect the maker’s personal style.
To build hand-stitching skills, each participant will also make and stitch a cute felt strawberry decoration, which can be attached to their bag as a charming accessory or kept as a separate keepsake.
Kids will learn how to:
Measure and cut fabric accurately
Sew straight and curved seams
Create a professional drawstring closure
Hand-stitch decorative felt pieces
All materials, tools, and step-by-step guidance are provided.

Sewing Class for Beginners
We offer a range of classes tailored to different skill levels—from beginners looking to master the basics to advanced sewers ready to tackle complex projects. Whether you’re interested in making your own clothes, home decor, or learning basic mending techniques, you will find the right session for you. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a completed project to take home.

Ages: 8 years+
This will be offered at project basis with a maximum of 6 participants per class. This setup allows you to learn at your own pace and ask questions as you go. Projects vary regularly and may include aprons, pillowcases, cushions case, bags, or even clothing items.
We provide all required material, tools, fabrics and threads. If you have a specific fabric in mind, you’re welcome to bring your own and we will adjust the price accordingly.

– Understand a simple sewing pattern
– How to mark and cut your fabric
– Wind the bobbin and thread the machine
– How to sew straight
– Hemming
– Overlock using a domestic machine

- You may reschedule your reservation up to 48 hours before the workshop start time, subject to availability.
- Cancellations and Refunds:
- Cancellations made 48 hours before the workshop start time are eligible for a refund of your deposit.
- Unfortunately, we cannot provide a refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of the workshop start time, including no-shows. Arriving too late for instructors to catch you up while the class continues will also forfeit your deposit.
- Ticket Transfers:
- If you’re unable to attend at short notice, feel free to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member who can attend in your place!

Class Highlights:
- Tailored for Beginners to Advanced Levels: From learning basic stitches to creating more advanced designs, we cater to every skill level.
- Hands-On Projects: Each session focuses on completing a unique project, such as tote bags, cushions, or simple garments.
- Materials Provided: All fabrics, tools, and threads are included, but kids are welcome to bring their favorite fabrics.
- Expert Guidance: Led by experienced instructors who encourage creativity and build confidence.
Schedule:
Classes run weekly during school terms, lasting 2 hours from
4:00pm to 6:00pm on Fridays.
1:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturdays.

- Students can take a make up class if they were unable to attend their regular class due to illness or an unavoidable absence
- Students or parents must notify the instructor or school of their absence in advance
- Make up classes are subject to availability, and we may not be able to guarantee a specific time.
- Make up classes must be booked in advance with UnicDIY staff.
- Make up classes are not fundable.
- Make up classes are only valid for the term and can not be carried forward to next term.
